Speech-Language Pathologists – CE Requirements by State
The following is a list of state requirements for continuing education for Speech-Language Pathologists. As state regulations change periodically, be sure to check with your state Board for the latest rules and regulations.
Alabama
12 hours, due by 12/31 every year
A minimum of 10 of the required 12 hours must be in Content Area I (page 4-7).
The Board approves CE providers and courses. PDH Academy is not approved at this time.

Alaska
No continuing education required.

Arizona
20 hours, due by the last day of the month of original licensure, every 2 years
(SLP Assistants: 20 hours, due by the last day of the month of original licensure, every 2 years)
The Board accepts CE from ASHA Approved CE Providers. PDH Academy is an ASHA approved provider.

Arkansas
10 hours, due by 6/30 every year

California
24 hours, due by the last day of the licensee’s birth month, every 2 years
(SLP Assistants: 12 hours, due by the last day of the licensee’s birth month, every 2 years)
For SLP Assistants there is no limit to the amount of hours you may complete online or home study. Only 6 hours may be completed through home study/online for SLP’s.

Colorado
10 hours, due by 11/30 every year

Only 15 hours (online) or 12 hours (correspondence) may be completed through home study for SLP’s. There is no limit for home study for SLP Assistants.
