Description
This course examines the evidence behind the use of electrical stimulation in therapeutic settings.
It covers muscle re-education, spasticity management, edema management, wound healing, pain
control, and iontophoresis.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, learners will
- Recognize at least 2 specific principles of electricity
- Identify at least 2 physiological effects of electrical stimulation
- Recall at least 4 contraindications associated with electrical stimulation
- Recognize at least 2 evidence-based principles pertaining to each of the 6 clinical applications of
electrical stimulation
